ADB assists China in building smart grid for the first time

The State Grid Electric Power Research Institute (NARI) recently signed a cooperation agreement with the Asian Development Bank headquarters in Manila, the Philippines. The Asian Development Bank will provide financial support for China's development of smart grids to increase technical assistance for renewable energy utilization. The project won by the State Grid Power Institute of Science and Technology, the main content includes the preparation of pilot provinces renewable energy development and smart grid construction of the technical route, the development of renewable energy grid technology standards, further in-depth study of wind power forecasting technology, upgrade wind power forecast System, as well as experience summaries and extensions of research results. This project is the first time that ADB will assist the construction and development of China's smart grid. It will help upgrade large-scale wind power and other intermittent renewable energy grid-connected operation technologies and accelerate the development of renewable energy in China.
