Wireless technology to run LED lighting bulbs can have a network

Light speed is a dream that people can't reach, but light is a weapon that people can control. Professor Haas of the University of Edinburgh's School of Engineering predicted that the light bulb may be used for wireless network transmission in the near future. In fact, this imaginative professor has already implemented data transmission through ordinary light bulbs, with potential speeds exceeding 10 megabits per second.
Haas installed a small piece of microchip on a regular LED bulb to give the bulb a signal-emitting function. A small "bulb wireless network" was formed. As long as you turn on the lights in the room, the internet is connected. In one presentation, Haas showed a table lamp that uses LED lights to transmit data to the receiver below the table. As soon as you put your hand into the beam, the video signal is transmitted to the screen behind you. Once the signal is blocked, it stops playing. Haas calls this device "LightFidelity" (Li-Fi for short), which can be used to transmit wireless data from the "white space" of the TV band or unused satellite signals. It can be used in hospitals, airports, military and even Under water. In theory, aircraft passengers can also surf the Internet using the light signals emitted from the cabin.
Haas said that radio waves have many limitations, they are rare, expensive, and have only certain bands. These limitations make it impossible to keep up with the high-speed transmission of wireless data, affecting transmission efficiency. While light is part of the electromagnetic spectrum, the visible spectrum is 10,000 times larger than radio waves, and there are 40 billion light bulbs used worldwide, which have higher efficiency. “Any place with light is a potential source of data transmission. In my opinion, the application of this technology is beyond our imagination. What we need to do is to install microchips for all potential lighting devices and to link lighting to data transmission. together."
With 40 billion bulbs on the earth, instead of the existing millions of wireless signal base stations, each LED bulb can be turned into a network signal transmitter, which is energy-saving, efficient, environmentally friendly and convenient.
