DIY really boring: PQI bid farewell to memory next year

Recently, PQI (Jin Yong International) CEO announced that the company will completely withdraw DRAM memory business next year.

PQI has quietly accelerated the pace of escaping from the memory business and will devote more energy to wireless peripherals of consumer electronics products, such as Apple device accessories, Wi-Fi storage devices and so on.

Alan Chang said that PQI will also strive to expand its share of the USB 3.0 U disk market and strive to phase out USB 2.0 products within six months. He also expects the USB 3.0 U disk to account for up to 75% of the total market by the end of 2013.

Storage products will remain the main business of PQI, accounting for approximately 85% of the company's revenue, but it is expected to fall to 70% in 2013 and then continue to decline as the product line is adjusted.

Very early on, OCZ gave up its underprivileged memory business "brilliantly" and devoted itself to SSDs.
