Footprint

GPS updates coordinate information every second, so you can record your own trajectory. General GPS can record more than 1024 footprints. On a dedicated page, the trajectory can be displayed on an adjustable scale. Footprint sampling has automatic and timed sampling methods automatically determined by the GPS automatically determine the footprint of the foot print point, generally only records the direction of turning points, long-distance linear walking does not remember; regular sampling can be specified sampling time interval, such as 30 seconds , One Minute, Five Minutes, or other time, record a Footprint every so long. You can clearly see the horizontal projection of your footsteps on the Footprints page. You can start recording, stop recording, set the mode, or clear the footprint. The points on the “footprint” line have no name, and cannot be referenced alone to view their coordinates. They are mainly used to draw roadmaps (computer downloads?) and “backtracking” functions. Many GPSs have a function called "Trace back". When this function is used, it converts the footprint into a "route" (ROUTE). The choice of waypoint is done by the internal GPS program. A big turning point on the line.

At the same time, activate this route as the active route, and the user can return to the original route. It should be noted that the retrospective function will generally put the backtracking route into a default route (such as route0). Look at your GPS manual. Before using, check whether the data is already available on this line. If so, use the copy function to copy it first. Go to another empty line to avoid overwriting. The waypoints on the route are backtracked with system default temporary names such as "T001". Some GPS will reuse these names when determining the second retrospective route. Even if you have copied the old route, you will The name of the point reference is reused, so the route will change, not the original retrospective route. Please check your GPS instruction manual and try to clarify your situation. If necessary, for TraceBack routes that require long-term preservation, copy to idle routes and rename all waypoint names.
