Taiwan’s Foreign Trade Association invited 12 Mexican large-scale green energy companies to organize a “Mexican Green Energy Science and Technology Purchasing Team†and will host a one-on-one procurement fair at Taipei World Trade Expo Exhibition Hall 1 on May 25. The purchased products include solar energy, wind power generation, led lighting, electric vehicles, other energy-saving solutions, and renewable energy technology and related products and equipment.
The Taiwan Trade Association stated that Mexico is one of the countries in the Latin American region that attaches most importance to the green energy industry and has actively developed green energy as an important new industry in recent years. Mexico passed the Renewable Energy Law in 2008. Currently, wind power development is leading Latin America's neighboring countries, and the solar energy industry is gradually developing to supply electricity to remote regions.
The Mexican government is discussing the details of the relevant subsidy for renewable energy power generation, and the local electricity price is at least 1.5 times that of Taiwan, and energy-saving products definitely have the opportunity to enter the market. Mexico mainly purchases green energy equipment and products from the United States, but the production areas are mostly from Taiwan and mainland China. Once it establishes direct channels with Taiwanese businesses, the potential for business opportunities is very large.
At present, more than 50 related companies, including AU Optronics, Asahi Solar, Asahi Optoelectronics, Green Energy Technology, Greentech, Zhiguang Energy, Yanjing Optoelectronics, and Xinyuansheng Technology, have registered to participate in the project. At the trade fair, some buyers revealed that the purchase amount has reached US$12 million.

Vicente Estrada Cajigal took the lead and led 12 local Mexican green energy-related companies to purchase in Taiwan.
