Hitachi Develops New Touch LCD Display 30% Thiner Than Original

According to foreign media reports, Hitachi announced on the 24th that the company has successfully developed a new type of touch LCD panel that combines the features of a touch panel and a liquid crystal panel. The new touch LCD display is 30% thinner than the original display in the market. The new display is scheduled to begin mass production in the second half of 2011 and is expected to be widely used in lighter mobile phones and new smart phones. .

The new display screen thickness is reduced from the original 2 mm thickness of the old display panel to 1.5 mm or less, and the thickness of the touch screen portion of the original display screen is also reduced from 0.5 mm to 0.1 mm. Since the liquid crystal panels manufactured separately from the previously independently arranged and touch panels are integrated and produced, components such as glass substrates necessary for producing the touch panel are successfully removed, and the thickness of the display panel is reduced.

On the other hand, due to the thinning of the touch screen, if the wrong operation is likely to cause electromagnetic noise, the new display panel adopts a new technology of setting a device for suppressing electromagnetic noise, which effectively eliminates the interference caused by the electromagnetic noise generated by the liquid crystal panel. When touching the display, the detection error is controlled to be less than plus or minus 1 mm.
