Global 3D TV shipments will reach 3.2 million units in 2010

According to foreign media reports, 3D TVs are now ready to be sold in the retail market, according to a quarterly report by the market research company DisplaySearch on the quarterly TV design and function report for the third quarter of 2010.

However, due to high prices and lack of content, the application of 3D TVs to consumers is limited. However, with the price drop and the increase in 3D content and technological improvements, 3D TV sets will see a significant increase in shipments in the coming years. DisplaySearch predicts that in 2010, global 3D TV shipments will reach 3.2 million units, and shipments in 2014 will exceed 90 million units. According to this forecast, the proportion of 3D TV shipments in total TV shipments in 2014 will increase from 2% in 2010 to 41%.
