As a well-known lighting designer in the industry, he cooked a light feast for the world with his dedication and sincerity. He used his rigorous lighting design attitude to create numerous buildings, from ancient architecture, landscape lighting, and floor lighting. To the lighting of the stadium, he was all-encompassing, and every time he used different light to envelop his understanding of architecture and design to show the world the charm of light.

As the chief designer of Shangzhu Lighting, Zhao Shengxin has a wealth of design experience. For more than ten years, he has devoted himself to lighting design. In recent years, he has had many outstanding works. Zhao Shengxin has his own unique views on how to do good landscape lighting design. Zhao Shengxin shared with reporters his views and experience as a lighting designer.

Reporter: How did you get into this line? What are the representative lighting design cases you have done?

I started my design work in 1998. I have been working as an interior designer for the first 2 or 3 years. When I work as an interior designer, I often run into problems with interior lighting design. At the time, I designed the interior lighting. Not as the focus of interior design teaching, so there will be many confusion on the practical problems of interior lighting design, and I always want to study the field of lighting design. In addition, although domestic cities did not conduct large-scale urban lighting construction at that time, the celebration lighting was still popular. At the same time, I was exposed to some "Dadamy Art" materials and was infected. I feel that lighting design can not only solve the short board in my interior design, in addition to the "earth art" more use of the lighting effect. Therefore, the idea of ​​learning lighting design was born at that time, and later in the process of work, I was able to devote myself to the work of lighting design. I did not expect this line to be done for more than 10 years.

The successful projects that have been handled since the beginning of the industry are actually quite numerous, ranging from commercial indoor lighting, single-unit lighting, to a city's overall lighting design or planning. The representative case I think is still to calculate the lighting design of the Dongguan administrative and cultural center square, because it is the largest square in South China, and the second case covers the landscape lighting, architectural lighting and landscape lighting design. Speaking of my representative case, I feel that I feel most satisfied with the design of the landscape lamps that I made for this project. Most of these lamps are based on a simple modern style, reflecting Dongguan's commitment to building an international manufacturing city. The goal. It also enriches the ornamental space landscape. So far, when I walk to some cities, I can still see imitations of these lamps.

In the night city lighting, I and the team also completed the nightscape lighting plan in Zhuzhou City, becoming an important basis for the local government departments to manage the lighting construction. The lighting of the main areas of Zhuzhou, Sanya, Jishou, Wuhu, Zengcheng, Conghua, Duyun and other major cities was successively completed. With our passion and creativity, thousands of buildings are covered with evenings.

Reporter: With the development of the city, "light civilization" has received more and more attention. It not only includes rational disposal of light pollution, but also rational use of light resources. How did you do this in the process of landscape design?

The development of any design industry, the designer is the main promoter of consciousness innovation, but the owner is also a force that can not be ignored. The development of the city lighting industry in China only lasted for a decade. Everyone lived in an artificial light environment, but there were many blind spots and misunderstandings in recognizing and rationally utilizing light resources. Domestic lighting designers generally have experience working in lighting engineering companies. Because the company’s pursuit of engineering quantities, lamp sales, and other business appeals have seriously affected the independence of designers’ rational design. I myself used to have blind lights and excess lighting. However, through the understanding of the international design trends and their own understanding of green lighting, and gradually realize the importance of creating a green and energy-saving lighting environment, in the subsequent design, it has gradually corrected the previous misconceptions about lighting. To create a humanized lighting environment as its own design pursuit. In each design case, the owner's professional knowledge was used to guide the owner's awareness of the rational use of light resources, and he actively participated in the promotion of green lighting concepts in the industry. Through its own social practice, it is really promoting the concept of green lighting.

Over the years, I have felt that people's awareness in lighting applications has generally improved. When we had our own independent lighting design team, we separated the lighting design from the engineering. More often than not, when we designed the design, we put: “Lighting is not selling light, it is not a simple application of technology. But the second interpretation of the landscape is the creation of art as a distinctive design concept. A good designer not only stands in the designer's own perspective, but also fully considers for the owner how to create the best light environment with the least resources. Another point I think is even more important is to use yourself as a light user. Instead of installing a lot of lamps, it is an important consideration in designing how to improve the comfort, rationality and humanity of light applications.

Reporter: As a designer who has been working for more than a decade, what does lighting design mean to you? How do you think of lighting design and your relationship with society?

I think the career of designer has a kind of lofty feeling for me because the profession actually plays a driving force for innovation and creation in the society. At the same time, the designed works actually have an impact on people’s lives. Good design landscaping and enhance the quality of life. So I think that design is a very meaningful job, and lighting design is also the same! My outlook on life is actually more traditional. I always expect to leave some works in this society. If you leave something beautiful because of your efforts in this bustling society, then this kind of life is a perfect life.

Reporter: Do you have a series of lighting designs for large-scale public buildings? Can you share with us our experience in this area?

The design point of public space is often the beginning of this “public” word. Public space is different from private space. It should pursue more of a commonality, both in color and in illuminance, taking into account that the audience for this work is not a specific group of people, but people at all levels. Secondly, it is necessary to have a clear positioning on the functional positioning of the building, and the modal settings of architectural lighting with different functional properties are quite different. Of course, the end of the final light or the design features of the building itself, night lighting is an important means of shaping the night image of the building, a profound understanding of the architectural design features is a key to the success of lighting design!

Reporter: In China, lighting design often begins after all designs have been completed. This leads to very passive lighting design. How do you view this issue?

In the past, the lighting design was often followed by the transformation of the old city or the elevation of the landscape. The implementation of the lighting design inevitably affected the daytime landscape of the building. In many cases, this is actually worth the candle. If a good lighting design can be perfectly combined with the architectural structure and scruples the daytime landscape, the beauty of the night view is the perfect design.

For outdoor lighting, this has actually been improved in the current design process. Many cases are now completed before the architectural design is completed and the design of the curtain wall is deepened. In fact, this time is also the best time for lighting design intervention. On the one hand, the architectural design has been finalized. On the other hand, the curtain wall design needs to be deepened, leaving room for the combination of lighting and architecture. All parties design will not do repeated work.

For the interior lighting design, it should be said that the decoration design scheme has been determined, but the construction drawing is not involved in the design stage. The interior lighting design needs to be perfectly integrated with the decoration design. In addition, the good lighting concept may also be good for the interior decoration design. With the promotion, lighting designers can provide interior designers with reasonable design advice through their own professional perspective.

Reporter: As the soul of lighting design, light is the most important. How do you understand light?

I don't want to talk too much about "light", but light is the soul for space. Without the depiction of "light," there is no room for agility and richness. The idea of ​​"a beam of light changing an ordinary wall" led me to pursue the interest of light. “Beginning with the darkness” tells us that we must cherish the application of light. The exhausting light from all aspects causes the waste of resources and the appearance of light pollution. It also weakens the expression of light. Night lighting design actually we still have to learn from nature, we must have the light of the tentacles of the delicate things of all things, but also have the "sparse cross oblique" artistic conception, but also have a three-dimensional sense of light and shade.
