In 2017, LED lighting saved 1983 billion kWh, equivalent to the power of two Three Gorges power stations.

In recent years, the declining cost and improved performance of LED products have significantly boosted their market penetration. As energy-efficient lighting solutions, LEDs gained widespread adoption in 2017, contributing effectively to electricity conservation and carbon emission reduction.

By 2017, LED lighting saved an impressive 193.8 billion kWh of electricity and reduced carbon emissions by 178 million tons. This is equivalent to the annual power output of two Three Gorges Dams, which generated 97.605 billion kWh in that year. Although the market share of LED lighting is still not extremely high, if all traditional lighting were replaced with LEDs, it could save approximately 500 billion kWh annually—equivalent to the power generated by five Three Gorges Dams. The Three Gorges Dam is the world's largest water conservancy project, taking nearly 50 years to complete and recognized as one of the top ten super projects globally. China’s LED lighting industry has only been developing for a few years, yet its achievements are truly impressive. It didn’t take excessive time or resources to reach this level of success. As professionals in the lighting industry, we should be proud of these accomplishments.
