LSY-1 Asphalt Concrete Slope Flow Enthalpy Tester
The LSY-1 asphalt concrete slope flow enthalpy tester is a specialized device used to determine the slope flow value of asphalt concrete. It follows the DL/T5362-2006 standard for hydraulic asphalt concrete testing procedures. This equipment is suitable for testing specimens with a maximum aggregate particle size of no more than 26.5mm, as well as core samples drilled on-site.
Key Components of the LSY-1 Tester:
- Steel Plate Assembly: Includes one main unit that can hold up to six test pieces.
- Universal Meter: Used for measuring electrical resistance during the test process.
- Displacement Meter: Features an accuracy of 0.01mm, ensuring precise measurement of deformation.
Testing Procedure:
- Prepare the asphalt mixture according to specified guidelines and form Marshall test specimens. Each group should consist of six test pieces with a height of 63.5mm ± 1.3mm. For field core samples, they should be processed into test pieces with a diameter of 100mm ± 3mm and a height of 63.5mm ± 1.3mm.
- After forming the test pieces, allow them to cure at room temperature for 24 hours and measure their initial height.
- Use high-strength adhesive to attach the test piece to the slope flow meter. Place an 8mm × 3mm × 1mm copper piece at a distance of 50mm from the bottom of the test piece. Connect the copper piece and a common wire to the multimeter's two poles. Adjust the displacement meter so its probe touches the copper piece and check the circuit connection. Ensure the displacement meter is positioned 50mm vertically above the slope surface.
- Adjust the slope angle to the design-specified value. If no specification is given, use a slope ratio of 1:1.7.
- Heat the oven to the test temperature, maintaining an error margin of ±1°C. The test temperature can be set based on project conditions. If no guidance is provided, use 70°C as the default.
- Before placing the slope flow meter in the oven, adjust the displacement meter and record the initial reading (Uo) for each test piece. Then carefully place the slope flow meter into the preheated oven.
- Allow the test pieces to remain at constant temperature for 48 hours. Afterward, record the final deformation readings (Ue) for each specimen.
Processing Test Results:
The slope flow value (U) is calculated using the formula: U = Uo – Ue, where U is the slope flow value in millimeters, Uo is the initial reading, and Ue is the reading after 48 hours of constant temperature. The average of the six test pieces is taken as the final result.
- If one or two of the six test pieces show a deviation greater than 10% from the average, the average of the remaining pieces is used.
- If more than three test pieces differ by more than 15% from the average, the test must be repeated.
- After completing the test, clean the surface of the equipment and cover it with a dust cover to protect it from damage.
