On February 9th, California-based innovation company Soraa announced the launch of its flagship product, Led Lighting products called LED 2.0 technology. This new LED bulb is 10 times brighter than a regular LED. Previously, Soraa received more than $100 million in start-up funding through two rounds of financing, and plans to sell the first LED 2.0 products by the end of the quarter.
The product is considered to be an LED bulb that rivals traditional 50-watt halogen bulbs. What's more, the product does not require a mechanical fan and is optimized for electrical design, making it fully compatible with common transformers and dimmers, both indoors and outdoors.
Soraa uses gallium nitride as the substrate, which reduces the mismatch between the two crystal structures. Gallium nitride is more expensive than sapphire or silicon based materials. But Soraa said that it has mastered an innovative manufacturing technology that can significantly reduce the cost of GaN production, and claims that the substrate cost is only a small part of the entire bulb, and the benefits will be far greater than the expenditure.
