Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502) has announced the launch of "TC358870XBG", the industry's first [1] 4K high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI®) to dual-channel MIPI® DSI bridge chip that supports video format conversion. The product is now available as a prototype and is scheduled for mass production in September.
The new integrated circuit (IC) provides ultra-high definition image quality (3840 x 2160 pixels) with a resolution of up to 4K through a dual DSI interface with a refresh rate of 30 frames per second (fps). In addition, the product supports WQXGA (2560 x 1600) at 60 frames per second and full HD resolution at 120 fps. Its low latency features enhance the performance of real-time gaming applications and virtual reality products with high-resolution LCD displays.
The new IC also supports the conversion of HDMI® audio input streams to I2S, TDM or SLIMbus® (serial low-power inter-chip media bus) for a variety of applications.
