National sales of home appliances to the countryside exceeded 400 billion yuan

The Ministry of Commerce released the news last weekend. As of the end of August, the cumulative sales of home appliances to the countryside in the country totaled 180 million units, realized sales of 405 billion yuan and issued subsidies of 46 billion yuan.

Data show that in the first 8 months of this year, sales of household appliances to the countryside went to 65.41 million units, and sales reached 163.2 billion yuan, up 41.3% and 61.9% year-on-year respectively. Among them, 8.96 million units were sold in August, with sales of 18.66 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.3% and an increase of 9.5%.

In August, sales of home appliances to the countryside were generally stable. From a regional point of view, sales in six provinces such as Shandong and Henan exceeded RMB 1 billion, accounting for more than half of the country. From the perspective of product categories, sales of refrigerators and color TVs exceeded RMB 4 billion, which together accounted for 50% of the total sales of home appliances to the countryside. The sales of water heaters increased by 66% year-on-year. From the perspective of enterprises, Haier Group, Hisense Group, and Midea Group still ranked in the top three sales.
