As part of the lighting program, approximately 330 LED lighting modules have been installed, enabling some of the finest and ancient items to be illuminated for the first time. Museum engineer Dave Russ explained that Lamina's warm white LEDs can replace many of the prime sources because of its minimal maintenance costs and significant energy budget savings.

Most importantly, thanks to its low heat output and zero UV, we can use a more aesthetically pleasing method to illuminate the sensitive parts of our collectors. Many items have never been exhibited before the public.



These are based on Lamina's Atlas(TM) warm white LED source. The illuminator is attached to an aluminum block that has been modified to act as a heat sink. The boost driver provides a constant current and is equipped with a microprocessor and pulse width modulation signal that allows the system to gradually dim when there is no one around.

The museum is divided into different areas, each with sensors so that when the visitors leave the area, the lights are dimmed after a few minutes. This will save energy and over-illuminate sensitive items.


Not long ago, Lamina launched two new product lines. The first is a series of light engines with high-brightness light output that are bright for many applications in residential, office, retail, commercial and exterior applications. This innovative design fits most existing fixtures and produces more light than a 20 watt MR-16 halogen bulb. And it consumes less than 8 watts of electricity.
