LGD is set to unveil its ultra-high-definition scroll-type OLED display at CES, marking a major step forward in flexible display technology. Meanwhile, Samsung is also preparing to showcase its latest 8K QLED TV at the event, setting the stage for an exciting rivalry between two industry giants.
According to reports, LG Display will present a 65-inch ultra-high-definition rollable display at CES, highlighting the company's innovation in flexible screen solutions. The display can be rolled up like a scroll, making it easy to store and install. This new technology offers both portability and versatility, opening up new possibilities for home entertainment and commercial applications.
Alongside the 65-inch model, LG Display will also showcase a 55-inch transparent display and a 77-inch wallpaper-style TV, further demonstrating the advantages of OLED technology. These displays are designed to blend seamlessly into modern living spaces while delivering stunning visual performance.
This is the first time that LG Display is publicly showcasing such scroll-type displays, despite having announced the development of an 18-inch version back in 2015. The 66-inch prototype features a 4K resolution of 3840x2160, offering crystal-clear images and an immersive viewing experience.
In addition, LG Display will also present an 88-inch 8K OLED display at CES, pushing the boundaries of high-resolution content. Last year, the company successfully developed a 77-inch transparent OLED display, which was another milestone in the evolution of flexible screens.
Samsung, on the other hand, is expected to take the spotlight with its new 8K QLED TV and a massive 150-inch Micro LED TV. This competition between LG and Samsung at CES reflects the ongoing race for technological leadership in the display industry.
As a leader in medium and large OLED TVs, automotive components, and lighting, LG Display has long been recognized for its innovation. Meanwhile, Samsung dominates the small-size display market, holding over 90% of the smartphone OLED display market share. With both companies pushing the limits of display technology, CES promises to be a must-see event for tech enthusiasts and industry professionals alike.
