Post-Expo Lighting Design Thinking (I)

The night view design is based on a reasonable performance of the architectural art. In a sense, the Shanghai World Expo is an exploration of the future manifestations of world architecture.

1. Appreciation of Expo venue lighting

1) Italian Pavilion:

The Italian pavilion has a building area of 7,800 square meters and the design of the entire venue is an interpretation of contemporary Italian culture. Inside the stadium is a collection of small, irregularly shaped buildings, each of which can be dismantled and rebuilt to represent several cities in Italy.

The front of the foyer is a replica of the Vicenza Olympic Theatre designed by Andrea Palladio.

The glazing top is made of crystal glass with good thermal insulation. Reduce energy consumption.

The floor is made of porcelain sheet, the hardness is seven times that of marble, and the water absorption rate is ten times that of marble. The titanium dioxide in the porcelain plate can absorb carbon dioxide and form a local space for air purification.

The 3,774 transparent prefabricated panels made of translucent concrete cover an area of 1887 square meters. The venue can continuously change different light and shadow effects in one day. The exterior can produce very good night scene effects; the different light inside can be collected to illuminate the interior of the exhibition hall.

"Transparent cement" is obtained by the specific technology of concrete materials, additives, and resins.

2) Danish Pavilion:

Venue Theme: Dream City

The Danish pavilion stands around the "harbour". The entire building is a huge steel structure with a two-lane spiral ramp that consists of sidewalks and bicycle lanes that are hovered twice from the ground to a height of twelve meters and hovered back down to the ground.

Lighting: The combination of the new LED light source and the exterior art of the building makes the building full of glamour.
